Creative ITC partners IMSCAD on remote workstation services

Wed, 29th Apr 2026 (Today)

Creative ITC has formed a joint venture with IMSCAD Services, adding a specialist delivery partner for virtual desktop infrastructure and remote workstation services.

IMSCAD will support delivery across virtual desktop infrastructure, cloud workstations and managed services, while customers will continue to receive a single service.

Creative ITC is expanding as demand rises from architecture, engineering and construction firms for remote access to graphics-heavy software and specialist computing environments. The partnership follows the opening of its US headquarters in Houston.

Known in the AEC market for consultancy on remote and hybrid working systems, troubleshooting installations and support for organisations using 3D and CAD applications, IMSCAD will act as a specialist delivery partner to Creative ITC under the arrangement.

Both companies are targeting sectors where staff rely on software such as Revit, BIM 360, Solidworks and Navisworks. These applications are widely used in architecture, engineering and construction projects and typically require more computing power than general office software.

This has created a market for hosted desktops and remote workstation systems for designers, engineers and visualisation teams that need access to intensive applications without running all workloads on local machines.

"This partnership strengthens our delivery capabilities and meets rising market demand," said Keith Ali, chief executive of Creative ITC.

"As design and visualisation workloads continue to evolve, AEC firms increasingly need high-performance, scalable desktop solutions and the infrastructure agility to support these specialised workloads. Our global private cloud infrastructure, combined with our expanded technical skills, positions us to extend delivery of fully managed solutions at scale."

Creative ITC runs infrastructure across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, and supports thousands of users in architecture, engineering, energy, and construction organisations. Its customers range from mid-sized firms to large international businesses.

Workstation demand

The tie-up reflects broader changes in how technical teams access software for modelling, design and collaboration. Many architecture, engineering and construction employers have moved towards hybrid working while also trying to centralise IT management and avoid performance issues for users working on large files and 3D models.

"AEC teams need outstanding performance, but many firms continue to operate general-purpose virtual desktop platforms on legacy infrastructure or in public cloud environments that are not optimised for their intensive 3D and CAD workloads," said Adam Jull, founder and chief executive of IMSCAD Services.

"This partnership with Creative will ensure our customers benefit from high-performance, purpose-built virtual and remote workstation solutions, whether on-premises or in Creative ITC's cloud, enabling them to outsource IT for greater mobility, efficiency and productivity."

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the joint venture. They said the arrangement combines Creative ITC's private cloud footprint with IMSCAD's experience in desktop virtualisation for design-led industries.

Creative ITC's customer base includes businesses in architecture, engineering, infrastructure, energy and technology. IMSCAD works with users of virtualised 3D and CAD applications and with IT channel partners.

The agreement comes as specialist cloud and managed service providers compete for demand from businesses that need remote access to engineering and design software without compromising the user experience for distributed teams.
