Thu, 7th May 2026 (Today)
MTX Group has appointed Sri Gazula as Global Growth Officer, a New Zealand-based role focused on the company's international expansion plans.
He will help lead growth across the US, Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, with a remit spanning artificial intelligence, data centres and energy. The appointment is part of MTX's broader push to expand its global footprint and deepen work with government and enterprise customers.
The move adds a senior executive in APAC as MTX looks to grow in sectors tied to digital infrastructure. Gazula will work on strategic partnerships across public and private sector markets and oversee go-to-market activity linked to the company's broader business plans.
MTX has set growth priorities around AI, cloud infrastructure and energy systems, which it sees as increasingly central to digital transformation. The company is positioning these segments as a core part of its international strategy as organisations invest in technology platforms and related infrastructure.
In the new role, Gazula is expected to focus on expanding MTX's presence in key markets, advancing work in AI, data centres and energy transformation, and building partnerships with customers and institutions. MTX also linked the appointment to its long-term 2030 plan.
Das Nobel outlined the rationale for the hire.
"MTX is committed to a global expansion strategy focused on achieving tangible results, specifically enhancing government and enterprise operations through innovative technology," said Das Nobel, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, MTX Group.
"We are entering our next phase of growth with significant investments in AI, data centres, and energy. Sri possesses the necessary experience, foresight, and capability for execution to ensure we scale responsibly and capitalise on emerging regional opportunities," added Nobel.
Career background
Gazula brings nearly 30 years of experience in information and communications technology across New Zealand and international markets. His background includes ICT strategy, large programme delivery, cloud transformation, infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecommunications and business transformation.
He has worked across public and private sector organisations and contributed to national digital policy work in New Zealand, including the All-of-Government cloud strategy. His previous leadership roles include positions at Woosh Wireless, New Zealand Police, Revera, a Spark New Zealand company, and Grant Thornton New Zealand, where he was a partner in the digital practice.
Sudeep Acharya said the appointment strengthens the company's leadership bench in the region.
"Sri's appointment represents an important step in strengthening our leadership team as we continue to scale MTX's presence across APAC and globally," said Sudeep Acharya, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, MTX APAC.
"His deep experience across government, enterprise, and emerging technologies positions us to accelerate growth, deepen partnerships, and deliver greater impact for our clients," added Acharya.
Regional role
Gazula will be based in New Zealand, giving MTX another senior executive presence in a market where he has spent much of his career. The hire underlines the company's intention to build out leadership in APAC while linking regional operations more closely with its North American, European and Latin American business.
The appointment comes as technology suppliers increasingly try to tie software, cloud infrastructure and energy systems into a single investment case for customers facing rising demand for computing capacity. Data centres and AI services in particular have drawn more attention because of their energy use, location demands and role in public sector modernisation programmes.
For MTX, Gazula's mix of public sector and commercial experience appears central to the role. He has led complex initiatives in large organisations and worked at the intersection of technology strategy and operational delivery.
Gazula described the role as part of a broader phase of expansion for the business.
"I'm excited to join MTX at such a pivotal time in its global journey," said Sri Gazula, Global Growth Officer, MTX Group. "MTX has built a strong reputation for delivering meaningful outcomes through technology. As we execute on our 2030 vision, the opportunity to combine AI, data centres, and energy innovation to drive real impact for governments and enterprises is immense. I look forward to building strong partnerships and helping accelerate MTX's growth across global markets," he added.
